With heartfelt sorrow, family and friends are mourning the passing of Maddison Marie Borah, 26, of Fairfield, who passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Her unexpected departure has left a deep sadness among those who knew and loved her, as they remember a kindhearted young woman whose creativity, compassion, and gentle spirit touched many lives.
Maddison was born on February 7, 2000, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Robert Matthew Borah and Darla Shaw. She was known for her caring nature, her love for helping others, and the joy she found in bringing creativity and happiness into the lives of those around her.
During her life, Maddison worked at Kiddie College, where she shared her patience, warmth, and love for children. She had a special ability to connect with others and found fulfillment in caring for and supporting both children and the elderly. Her compassion and nurturing personality were qualities that made her deeply appreciated by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of work, Maddison enjoyed many creative pursuits. She found happiness through painting, drawing, crafting, and music. Her artistic spirit reflected the imagination and kindness she carried with her throughout her life. Whether creating something beautiful, spending time with loved ones, or simply sharing moments with others, Maddison brought a special light into the lives of those around her.
Maddison is survived by her mother, Darla (Jason) Simpson; siblings, Meagan Borah, Abby Simpson, and Jesse Simpson; grandparents, Leon Shaw, Michael Simpson, and Marjorie Simpson; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will continue to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Matthew Borah; grandparents, Darlene Hunsinger, Mickey Borah, and Kaye Borah; aunts Patty Kincart and Michelle Borah; and uncles Mike Borah and Christopher Borah.
As her family grieves this tremendous loss, they are finding comfort in the memories Maddison created and the love she shared with everyone around her. Though her time on earth was far too short, the impact she made will continue to live on through the many people whose lives she touched.
Funeral services for Maddison Marie Borah will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with cremation to follow. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
